Carol and I were out with Jerry and Jessica yesterday exploring the Apache Trail. It was an amazing adventure and by the end of the day our senses were full of majesty.

We started our day with the alarm clock ringing at 5:00 so that we could get to the site with good light. Well, one thing lead to another and we didn't get there until around 10:00 or so. Therefore, I was forced to shoot with very high contrasting light. Bummer!
The trip is a very beautiful drive through Fountain Hills, and then a winding two hour drive in the mountains until you reach the town of Payson, Arizona.
From there we traveled about 10 more miles until we reached the park.
This "natural bridge" is believed to be the largest travertine bridge in the world. It was very interesting and a beautiful way to spend some "shoulder to shoulder" time with my beautiful wife.

It appears as though one good sneeze could create an avalanche of boulders around your head. If you look at the enlarged photograph you can see that they actually incorporated one of the boulders right in the structure of their home.
We are sure loving Arizona. It is fun to have good friends visit as well.
